Prison Break: Good Fences

So we found out what was in the box, and yep, kids -- someone had been watching too many Brad Pitt movies and pulled a "Se7en."
Guess it's official: Sarah Wayne Callies will not be returning to "Prison Break." Hell, she couldn't even come by for 20 minutes so they could make a model of her head. Could it have been any more fake? According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, it apparently wasn't all due to the former actress-previously-known-as-Sara-Tancredi's new baby.
The real shame is not killing off a major character. Hell, that keeps things spicey. I mean, c'mon -- we're in season three here... but c'mon, Linc. How could you not tell Michael? Maybe you could have baked him a cake and wrote something on it. After all, Sona residents can receive mail.
Scofield is still sweaty. It could be the shirt or the fact that he has a prison break to plan and Whistler keeps hounding him about his stupid bird book.Meanwhile, all is not well in the land of Lechero. There's a blackout. Thankfully, Schofield is an engineer -- and the one that caused it. Would any engineer know how to dig and fix the electricity? I'm no rocket scientist, but apparently Schofield is.
Speaking of not well, Mahone is looking like his same freakish self -- but this week, he's having of hallucinations of Haywire (!). Apparently whatever killed Haywire actually did make him stronger, at least in Mahone's mind. Thankfully T-Bag's new afterschool job as drug dealer is helping turn Mahone back into his same self-confident, psychotic self. How he and Michael will team up and get out of there is beyond me. Maybe Michael will throw Mahone to the now-electrified fences.
Aside from Haywire, we had another great return: Sucre is back from the land of totally-annoying. Thank goodness; I was starting to wish him serious ill will. After finding out about Sara's head, he decided to pull his out of his ass and start helping Linc. He's already got himself a grave-digging gig and has begun the fence hole for the great escape, part two. Welcome back, brother!
A few other thoughts...
• Will Lechero and Basketball Jones be in on the escape? If not, don't waste my time with their characters.
• Who pays Lechero's cell phone bill -- and how does it get paid?
• Michael couldn't take his shirt off, even to dig??
• I think Whistler was fake digging. The guy didn't break a sweat!
• Speaking of Whistler, how is this guy involved with the Company? It can't be as simple as he says.
• Is T-Bag's good arm bionic? I want to see that guy wrestle the one-armed man from "The Fugitive."
• Poor Bellick. That's all I can say about that.
So what will be Schofield's motivation now? Rescue his nephew? Get back at the people who took his love? Get more tattoos? Stay tuned. -- Rachel Cericola

Dr. Sara Tancredi on “Prison Break”

Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) was decapitated and her head stuffed in a box. So what really happened? TVGuide interviewed Prison Break executive producer Matt Olmstead:
TVG: What was your understanding as to why she didn’t want to come back? It seems strange that she refused to return in any capacity. Doesn’t it seem strange to you?MO: It looked like a pretty good deal on the face of it. We definitely came up in money. Thirteen episodes would have allowed the character to have a proper exit. We were willing to push the start date back [to accommodate her maternity leave], which would have meant her coming in [around] Episode 10, but that wasn’t accepted. So then we offered to come up [to Canada] before she gave birth and film at her house. Pretty good money and she wouldn’t even have to leave her house. That wasn’t accepted. So it was a little curious to me and to others why she was taking such a hard stance. [Maybe] she felt that she was made certain assurances about being part of the show this season. And in fairness to her, those assurances were given, because she was such a valuable member of the show…. Also, she’s up [in Canada]. She’s comfortable. She’s starting a family. Maybe she didn’t want to have to fly down and have to do this stuff. Or maybe she felt like she wanted to be part of the show [full time], not just half the season. Perhaps she felt a little jilted. Our [original] plan was to definitely keep her for [all of] Season 3, but after a couple of times of getting it kicked back from the network, we had to come up with a new idea and that necessitated her character being killed.
Sarah Wayne Callies response via her spokesperson:
“As hard as we all tried, the Prison Break powers that be and I were unable to find a way to meet both the needs of the story and the needs of my family. We parted wishing each other well. I had a wonderful time working with the creative team and have a world of respect for all of them; they took great care of Dr. Sara. I’m also enormously grateful to the fans. They’ve been so gracious and supportive, and I hope they continue to enjoy the show.”
So any of you “Prison Break” fans think you have the answer?
Why did Sarah leave the show?
Does anybody care?
But more importantly, Is Wentworth Miller Gay?
